Every now and then we come across a blog post that sparks something deep within us.
For me, one such hot hot hot post was Danielle LaPorte’s recent burning question: “What’s Your Super Hero Name?” Her point was that distilling our personal truth reminds us we’re as big as our best selves. And she invited us to do exactly that.
So allow me to introduce myself…….
I am Boomerella, child of the ‘60s. Fierce champion of the freedom, power and beauty of middle age. Enthusiastic advocate of “thinking outside the box” and taking baby steps toward our wildest dreams.
I remind baby boomers everywhere to “question authority.” Especially our own “inner authorities” who tell us we’re “too old” to do…whatever we damn well please.
So what if we can’t compete in Olympic sprinting??? We can still walk our elderly neighbor’s dog…and work our way up to a 5K walk/run to benefit our local rescue.
We just need to get off our “buts.” Go make a difference. Have EPIC adventures. Dive into our own sexiness and pour as much heat as we can into every single day.
Because we boomers have a LOT of life left in us. It’s up to each of us to live it fully.
So we have a choice to make: We can either choose to feel over the hill, or we can choose to play full out and make the most of everything we’ve got.
I choose the latter. And I hope you do, too.
What do you say, boomer?
